Do not run from the fight — you are strong in The Lord

Believers must never shy away from fighting ,contending with and for victory

Psalm 144:1-2 KJV [1] Blessed be the Lord my strength, which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight: [2] My goodness, and my fortress; my high tower, and my deliverer; my shield, and he in whom I trust; who subdueth my people under me.

This is a fight of faith.

Paul teaches that this ought to be our attitude towards the wiles of the enemy

Ephesians 6:10-13,16 KJV [10] Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. [11] Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. [12] For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. [13] Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. [16] Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

This is your fight. You stay in faith, you are strong in The Lord.

Too many times we assume if it’s the will of God, it’s all silky and rosy. We have been wrong.

This was why the spies failed in the book of Numbers. They saw giants and felt, Gods word/ promise will fail. They refused to fight in faith. They succumbed to the challenges in their health despite God saying He is their healer. They bowed to their financial difficulties even though Gods word was out.

Numbers 13:27-28 KJV [27] And they told him, and said, We came unto the land whither thou sentest us, and surely it floweth with milk and honey; and this is the fruit of it. [28] Nevertheless the people be strong that dwell in the land, and the cities are walled, and very great: and moreover we saw the children of Anak there.

They gave in to the senses. They quit the word and went for logic. Caleb won’t have any of that.

Numbers 13:30 KJV [30] And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it.

Yet they persisted. Numbers 13:31 KJV [31] But the men that went up with him said, We be not able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we.

We say this when we exalt our failures and experiences above Gods word. Logical, common sense even scientific but scriptures calls it evil.

Numbers 13:32-33 KJV [32] And they brought up an evil report of the land which they had searched unto the children of Israel, saying, The land, through which we have gone to search it, is a land that eateth up the inhabitants thereof; and all the people that we saw in it are men of a great stature.

Evil report not because it’s logical, we aren’t to deny facts, but evil because it became their conclusion.

Never conclude with logic, accept / acknowledge it but exalt the Word when they conflict

[33] And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.

They allowed their imaginations go wild, suddenly they became grass hopers, how? Did they ask the folks how they saw them? Doubt and worry expect the worst like fear.

Faith expects miracles.

We must be ready for a fight.

The fight of faith.

The shield of faith.

Jesus teaches we use our faith in words: Mark 11:23 KJV [23] For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

It’s a fight with words. I read this quote by the US Naval Seal: “I will not quit. I persevere in and thrive in adversity. If knocked down, I will get back up every time. I’m never out of the fight “

This ought to be the believers attitude. We know we win. We know we are more than conquerors. We know, so we stay in the fight. It’s not over till we win.

Symptoms in our bodies we stay in faith and fight, we are healed. Lack and debts growing, we keep the switch of faith turned on, not discouraged to do more business, try more opportunities, we expect miracles — He is our shepherd, we don’t want.

Things going awry in ministry, we keep saying “I will finish my course with joy.” Marital issues, we say boldly, the Lord is my helper, my home is blessed, nothing missing, nothing broken.

We are winners.

We don’t run from the fight.

We don’t quake at challenges or balk under pressure. We don’t give up. We are from God, we overcome the world. The greater one in us puts us over — We WIN!

You are blessed.
