DURHAMVILLE — Durhamville Baptist Church, 5294 Church St., like several across the country this past week, completed its collection of Christmas Shoe Boxes.

The collection of shoe boxes are part of the Operation Christmas Child which is a ministry of Samaritans Purse International Relief.  Churches fill these boxes with many different items from toys, school and personal care items.  Children who receive the boxes often have no other gifts, organizers said.

Pastor Rob Casler of the Durhamville Baptist Church said it’s one of the best ways for folks to get involved in giving and not overtaxing any one individual.

“The amazing journey of a shoe box gift begins with you and results in evangelism, discipleship, and multiplication,” Casler said.

Worship at Durhamville Baptist Church is on Sundays at 10 a.m.
