MINEOLA (AP) — Authorities say a New York state trooper used a false identity online to harass a Long Island resident.

Jennifer Daignault was arraigned Friday on two counts of coercion and released on her own recognizance.

The 31-year-old’s phone number isn’t listed, and court records didn’t list a lawyer who could speak for her.

Daignault lives in Rome. She graduated from the state police academy in 2016 and was assigned to an upstate barracks.

Court records show the alleged harassment happened in June. State police say the charges relate to off-duty conduct.

Daignault is due back in court next Friday.
