Parked car hit by gunfire in Utica

A parked vehicle was hit by gunfire on Columbia Street in Utica early this morning, and law enforcement officials are investigating.

Police said there was a driver in the vehicle on Columbia Street, near Varick Street, when it was struck by gunfire at about 1:15 a.m. Police said the driver was unhurt, and they are investigating to see if he was the intended target.

No arrests have been made so far. Evidence was secured from the scene. The investigation is continuing.
