Wheels on the road
Let’s go for a spin.
Positively Rome’s bike share program is kicking off a second season with some exciting new features to make it more popular than ever.
Jake DiBari, founder of Positively Rome, said the bike share program was started to enhance the quality of life in the city for residents, visitors and local businesses.
Here’s how it works: Registered members can rent and return bicycles from designated bike stations using a smart phone app. Between August and November the program registered 455 members who rented over 870 times with an average rental time of about 50 minutes.
This year, the program has been enhanced with an annual membership pass with extra benefits and there are health and welfare programs and a new Rome resident program.
Data on costs and conditions — as well as frequently asked questions about unlocking the bikes and their operation — can be found at www.zagster.com/rome.
So, what are you waiting for? Good weather is just around the corner. Get out and ride.
