Rome Hospital facility praised
At Rome Memorial Hospital’s Residential Health Care Facility, it’s the individual who is important.
This resident-centered care philosophy is one important factor in creating the high quality environment that recently was saluted when the facility earned the highest five-star rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Nursing Home Compare.
Administrator Wendy Goetz notes that “our staff takes great pride in providing exceptional care with compassion. Everyone from nurses, housekeepers, activities specialists and administration play a part in achieving excellence and making this a special place for residents.”
The five-star rating goes to 29 percent of skilled-nursing facilities nationally. Considered are performance on health inspections, staffing levels and quality of resident care measures.
Besides the five-star rating the facility has also been recognized as a top performing nursing home by the state Department of Health.
Congratulations to the medical and support staff at the third-floor facility. Its 80 beds provide a much-needed service to the patients and families in our area who need long-term care, short-term rehab and respite care programs.
