Remembering times past
Among the many activities we like to cover in advance stories and then in photos are school reunions.
It seems that Rome and nearby school districts have a strong interest in reunions, perhaps stronger than in many other parts of the country.
They always seem to draw a good crowd, not only from local alums who still live in the area. Folks who live far away show up too.
Old friendships, fond memories and the latest family news items are exchanged at a dinner or some function.
After a rather wintry week, it’s nice to pause a bit and think ahead about this summer fun.
On our website at www.RomeSentinel.com, the Sentinel lists details and contacts for RFA classes with reunions submitted to the Daily Sentinel or to Jeanette Taverna Dominic, who helps coordinate RFA reunions.
If you graduated in a year ending in a “7” or “2” your class may be having a reunion in 2017. Also, some schools have all-class alumni dinners.
Information from classes and schools responding to DailySentinel requests for information are listed there. Go to the webiste, click on the “Living” tab and then on alumni/reunions on the right to see if your class is having a reunion.
After that, all we have to do is wait for summer.
