Making Rome beautiful

Among the groups that work diligently to beautify our community is Rome Clean and Green.

Rome Clean and Green was in the news last week because, with the Rome Common Council, it chose June recipients for its monthly award program designed to give a strong thanks to those residents who make significant efforts to beautify their homes and yards.

It’s a question of going above and beyond the routine maintenance that many homeowners in town do to preserve their homes. Clean and Green executive director Tanya Davis said “we are grateful to collaborate on this project with our councilors, as this emphasizes the positives happening each day in our neighborhoods.”

Each of the seven members of the council selects one home in his or her respective wards once per month during summer.

It should be noted Rome Clean and Green is a non-profit volunteer organization committed to beautification, property maintenance and the overall environmental well-being of the city.
