Discover pure taste of maple

If you missed a terrific pancake the past weekend at VVS high school, don’t worry. There are more coming up this weekend.

Maple Weekends are in full swing across New York State with nearly 170 maple farms offering tours and pancake breakfasts, selling delicious maple products and demonstrating the syrup-making process.

Beyond tours and tastings, activities at participating farms may include horse and wagon rides, snowshoeing and guided walks. A searchable list of Maple Weekend events is available at www.MapleWeekend.com.

At Vernon-Verona-Sherrill the Future Farmers of America will have pancake breakfasts Saturday and Sunday at 7:30 a.m. Admission price is $8 for adults and $6 for seniors and children 12 and under.

Tours, rides and cooking presentations are also featured.

All the events are devoted to the recognition of the state’s maple industry.

The Future Farmers at VVS encourage everyone to come out to discover “the pure taste of maple.”
