NEW HARTFORD — Rep. Claudia L. Tenney held campaign kickoff events in New Hartford and Binghamton this weekend to announce she will seek re-election in the 22nd District.

On Saturday in New Hartford, nearly 200 supporters were at Cavallo’s to hear from the first-term Republican. Tenney discussed her history of standing up to Gov. Andrew Cuomo and then Assembly Majority Leader Sheldon Silver while fighting corruption in Albany as a member of the state Assembly, and her work in Congress with President Trump “to help struggling small businesses, family farms and middle class families.”

“I went to Albany to challenge the status-quo, fight for tax payers and small business owners and fight the corruption head-on,” Tenney said. “I was the first to demand the resignation of corrupt speaker Sheldon Silver when it was revealed that he was using taxpayer-funded payoffs to cover up sexual harassment by Albany politicians.”

On Sunday in Binghamton at the Holiday Inn, over 100 supporters listened as Tenney laid out the choice between her and Demcoratic opponent Anthony J. Brindisi. “Out-of-touch progressives like Pelosi and Brindisi don’t understand us and what makes the heart of New York and America great,” Tenney said. “Hard working families who get up every day, who pay their taxes, who care about their neighbors and give generously to the community. We don’t like to be deceived by corrupt politicians, we don’t like to be called idiots if we think our tax dollars are being misused. They fight with smear tactics, radical protests and resist movements to bully anyone who disagrees with them. But we will win.”

Her campaign office is at 8469 Seneca Turnpike Suite 105 in New Hartford, and she will be opening another office in Binghamton soon. The 22nd District covers all of Oneida, Madison, Chenango and Cortland counties and parts of Broome, Herkimer, Oswego and Tioga counties.
