Terrance ‘Terry’ Robert Gaines

Terrance Gaines, 74, of Daytona Beach, FL, a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, passed away peacefully after a long battle of complications due to diabetes on July 26, 2017. He was born on August 3, 1942 in Rome, NY to Robert and Ida Gaines. Terry was a proud United States Marine Corps veteran. All of his sons are proud Marines. He loved to reminisce about his time spend in the Marine Corps. He was a former Orlando Florida Policeman in the 1960’s. Terry was also a welder, an over-the-road truck driver, machinist, owned a CB radio business, owned a trucking business and was an Oneida County Sherriff Deputy in the Marine Division in New York. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion and DAV. Terry and his wife Sally, moved back to Florida in 2015 from their home in Camden, NY to spend the rest of their lives living in the sun and sea. 

He is survived by his wife Sally, of 18 years; son and daughter-in-law Victor and Melly Gaines of Angwin, CA; daughter, Tracy Gaines of St. Mary’s, PA; step-son and daughter-in-law Jeremy and Samantha Link of Aiea, HI; step-son SSGT. Luke Link, USMC, of 29 Palms, CA; step-daughter Samantha Link of Daytona Beach, FL; five grandchildren and one great-grandson. Terry was predeceased by his parents and younger brother David Gaines.

Services will be private at a later date in McConnellsville, N.Y
