Sharron M. (Brooks) Occhipinti

Sharron M. Occhipinti, 72, of Largo, FL, formerly of Rome, passed away on Wednesday, August 2, 2017, at her home in Florida with her loving family at her side.

She was born on December 20, 1944, to Raymond and Frances Bean Brooks in Rome. She attended Laurel St. School and graduated from Westmoreland Central High School.

On December 30, 1961, Sharron married the love of her life, Angelo C. Occhipinti, in Rome. He passed away on February 28, 2004.

Surviving are a daughter, Tina and husband Ronald Coleman, of Seminole, FL; two sons, Todd and wife Holly Occhipinti, of San Francisco, CA, and Angelo Occhipinti, of Largo, FL; six grandchildren, Robert Lueddecke, of FL, Matthew Occhipinti, of TX, Angela Occhipinti, of Utica, Gianna and Marcella Occhipinti, of CA, and Angelo Occhipinti, Jr., of FL; two great-grandchildren Morgan and Riley Lueddecke; a sister, Norma Redmond, of Oneida; a brother, Allan Brooks, of Oneida; and many nieces and nephews and their families.

Sharron was predeceased by her oldest son, Dale M. Occhipinti, Desert Storm Veteran, in 2014; and her oldest brother, CPL Raymond Brooks, USMC, in 1958.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 9, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome, where the Rev. Robert Kelly will officiate. Interment will take place in St. John’s Cemetery. Family and friends are invited and may call on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
