Sally A. (Peacock) Congden

Sally A. Congden, 80, of McConnellsville Rd., Blossvale, passed away on Thursday, November 29, 2018, at Oneida Health Hospital.

She was born on April 16, 1938, in Rome, the daughter of Clinton and Madeline Saddler Peacock. She was a graduate of Camden High School, Class of 1956.

On June 1, 1957, Sally was united in marriage to John P. Congden, Sr., in Earlville, NY. Mr. Congden passed away on May 10, 2012.

Sally was the owner and operator of Ecco Video Store for ten years, retiring in 2001.

She enjoyed crocheting and reading.

Surviving are three daughters, Phyllis (Mitch) Blaakman, Debbie (Timothy) Rose, and Kelly (Tom) Tubbs, all of Blossvale; a son, Dan (Heather) Congden, of Camden; nine grandchildren, Justin, Jill, John, Lily, Clara, Austin, Leah, Sophie, and Jackie; a great-grandson, Canning; two sisters, Phyllis Willson (Stan Gleason), of Taberg, and Jane Puffer, of Watertown; a brother, Larry Peacock, of Lowville; a sister-in-law, Ruth Peacock, of Broadalbin, and several nieces and nephews. Sally was predeceased by a son, John “Butch” Congden, Jr.; a granddaughter, Shea Tubbs; and two brothers, Neil Peacock, and Robert Peacock.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made in Sally’s memory to Hospice and Palliative Care.
