Roy H. ‘JJ’ Dunlap, III
WESTERNVILLE — Roy H. “JJ” Dunlap, III, 46, of Stokes-Westernville Road, husband, of Donna, passed away suddenly at Rome Memorial Hospital, on Thursday, January 4, 2018.
Affectionately known since his birth as “JJ,” he was born in Rome, on August 10, 1971, a son of Roy H. and Jean M. Dunlap, Jr. JJ’s entire life was lived in Westernville; he received his education at Holland Patent Central School.
In addition to his great affection for his wife and family, JJ greatly enjoyed dairy farming; since completing his education, he was employed for area dairy farms, currently he was employed at the Bruce Edwards Farm, near Marcy. He also was a naturally gifted mechanic who greatly enjoyed the challenge of repairing automobiles and farm machinery.
On May 6, 2005, JJ was united in marriage with the love of his life, Donna M. McEwan, at Westernville United Methodist Church. JJ inscribed the following on the inside of Donna’s wedding ring: “Forever faithful.” And, Donna inscribed the following on the inside of JJ’s wedding ring: “Forever my heart.” That much will remain.
In addition to his wife, Donna, JJ is survived by a son, Henry Dunlap, at home and his mother, Jean M. Dunlap, Westernville and a step son, Jac, Rome. He was predeceased by his father, Roy, Jr. in 1978. Also surviving are cousins.
His Funeral will be Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, with interment in the spring in Westernville Cemetery. Calling hours are Sunday 1-4 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Westernville Fire Company.
