John Raymond Lappin

TABERG — John Raymond Lappin, 65, of Sheehan Road, passed away November 7, 2017 at University Hospital in Syracuse, NY surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Oneida, NY, the eldest child of the late Raymond and Cora Burmingham Lappin. John was a 1970 graduate of Camden Central School, he took several electrical classes at MVCC. He married the love of his life the former Kathryn Miller on July 27, 1974 at St. Ann’s Church in Glenmore, NY. John owned and operated the family farm on Sheehan Road until his health no longer allowed him to. He was an avid reader, electrician, and gardener. John loved working with his family at Robinson’s Florist and Greenhouses, prepping arrangements, planting seeds or porch sitting with customers, he loved it all. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. John took great pleasure in riding in his truck, target shooting, wood working and playing cards.

John is survived by his loving wife, Kathryn; one daughter, Kelly and Nick Smith; three sons, Michael and Audrey Lappin, Patrick and Laurie Lappin, all of Taberg, NY, and Kevin and Brandy-Lee Lappin, of Blossvale, NY; he was a loving grandfather to several grandchildren. He leaves behind two brothers, Bill and Lynne Lappin, Lakeport, NY, and Ray Lappin, Camden, NY; two sisters, Dawn and Bob Leuenberger and Dale and Terry Brown; one brother-in-law, Pat Blake, all of Taberg, NY; and several nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his sister, Sharon Blake.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 10:30 a.m.. from St. Patrick’s Church, Taberg, NY, under the direction of LaRobardiere Funeral Home, Inc., Camden, NY. Interment will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Taberg, NY. Calling hours will be held Friday, November 10, 2017 from 1-4 p.m. at the funeral home, 109 Main Street.
