Jack Louis Ott

Jack Louis Ott, 92, a resident of Creedmoor, NC, for the past 10 years, peacefully departed his earthly home on July 11, 2017 to be with his Heavenly Father. He was born on October 23, 1924, in Rome, NY, to the late Wallace Ott and Hazel Taylor Ott. 

Jack was a member of the Rome Wesleyan Church in Rome, NY, and Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Creedmoor, NC. He married Mary Josephine Burk in Rome, NY, on July 16, 1949. 

They had six children: Deborah (Don) Hinkle of Creedmoor, NC, Belinda (Bruce) Coonrod of Taberg, NY, Jackie (Mike) Long of Jackson, MO, Charlene (Al) Lewis of Taberg, NY, John (Pat) Ott of Greenville, NC, and Raymond (Pat) Ott of Camden, NY. There are 22 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren, and 19 great-great-grandchildren. Jack has one surviving sibling, Bruce Ott of Coldbrook, NY. 

He was predeceased by two brothers, William and James; three sisters, Betty Marie Williamson, Margaret Dixon, and Shirley Ott; and special companions, Buffy, Snuggles, and Rascal. 

The family would to thank Hospice for the wonderful caring love given to Jack and his family. 

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 9464 State Rt. 13, Camden. Interment will take place in Rome Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Friday from 4-7 p.m. Flowers are welcome or donations in Jack’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
