John B. ‘Jack’ Miller 66, of Main Street, Taberg, NY passed away Friday March 17, 2017 at Rome Memorial Hospital. He was born June 11, 1950 in Utica, NY a son of Bernard & Virginia Burden Miller and was a graduate of Utica Free Academy and attended M.V.C.C. Jack was a mechanic for most of his life, 40 years with Walter’s Chevrolet, Camden, NY and currently with Dan’s Auto Service, Taberg, NY. He was known as ‘the transmission man’ for his ability and knowledge of transmission work. He enjoyed races and working on race cars. Jack was
a member of the Old Crows Club, the Sh_ _ birds Club and was an active volunteer, organizer and judge for many car shows in the area. When he wasn’t working on cars he enjoyed woodworking. He was previously married to the former Dianne Kitchen.

Surviving are his wife, the former Diane Wilson, whom he married on Sept. 13, 1997 in Camden, NY, together they have two daughters, Jennifer & Shad Piersall and Jill & Jim Halsey, Camden, two sons, Eric Groff, Gilbert, AZ and Jason Miller, Taberg, 5 grandchildren, Lucas Piersall, John Michael Watkins, Amber Watkins, Denise Halsey and Danielle Halsey, and a great grand-daughter, Ariannah. Jack is also survived by a sister, Jean Candido, Lawrenceville, GA, his constant canine companion, Dakota and several nieces & nephews. 

A Funeral Mass will be held 11:00am Tuesday from St. Patrick’s Church, Taberg, NY under the direction of LaRobardiere Funeral Home, Inc., Camden, NY. Spring interment St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Taberg, NY. Calling hours will be held Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the funeral home, 109 Main Street. A prayer services will be held at the funeral home at 10:15 am Tuesday prior to the funeral. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to Wilmont Cancer Institute, 601 Elmwood Ave., Rochester, NY 14642.
