Elizabeth C. Kryczkowski
Elizabeth C. Kryczkowski, 92, of Floyd, passed away on May 16, 2017 at the Eastern Starr Home, with her loving family at her side. Betty was born on January 2, 1925 in Rome, N.Y. a daughter of the late Arthur and Riva Caster Corr. She was a graduate of Rome Free Academy and at the age fifteen started her working career at Whitting’s Ice Cream Parlor in Rome. In 1946, at the age of twenty-one she was united in marriage to Steven Kryczkowski in 1946.Together they moved to Floyd and built a restaurant/bar called the Highway Inn. Betty also worked at General Electric until 1969, she then she accepted a position as a Certified Nurses’ Aide at the Eastern Star Nursing Home until 1974. Betty went on to work at Bethany House until 2007 retiring after thirty – three year’s and at the age of eighty-two. She also served as an Election Board Inspector for twenty-nine years. For many years Betty was a member of the Eastern Star, her chapter affiliation began in 1946, when she became a member of Beth-L Chapter #470 in Frankfort, N.Y. Betty was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution in the early 1960’s and became a Campus Star Chapter Member on August 19, 2010.
She is survived by her cherished children, Deborah Greenow and son-in-law Kevin, Ava, two sons, Dennis Kryczkowski and daughter-in-law Kim Hirsch, Floyd, David Kryczkowski, Floyd; daughters-in-law Janet Greenow, Alveley, England and Linda Kryczkowski, Floyd; a special friend, Greg Smith, Floyd; grandchildren, Kelly Camacho and husband, David, Lisa Pittman and husband Phean ,Stephen Kryczkowski and Jennifer Hirsch; three great grandchildren, Dominick and Derek Camacho , Carte Jessie Pittman; along with several nieces and nephews. Betty was predeceased by one brother, John Corr; five sisters, Jessie Gird, Mildred Persnowski, Hilda Gillander, Barbra Kohli and Virginia Waterman.
The family wishes to thank the staff at the Eastern Star Home for the wonderful care which they provided to Betty, especially Christine Mc Glynn for all the special attention she gave Betty.

Funeral services will be held on Friday May 19, 2017 at 7:00P.M. at Strong-Burns & Sprock Funeral Home 7751 Merrick Road, Rome. Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Friday from 4-7 P.M. prior to the service. Interment will take place in Rome Cemetery.
