Daryl C. Beckwith

Daryl C. Beckwith, of Floyd, NY, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2017 at the age of 58, with his loving family by his side, after a long courageous battle with cancer.

Daryl was born to Earl and Orvis Beckwith on December 27, 1958 in Rome, NY. He attended Rome Free Academy and later joined the US Navy. Daryl married Sherry Jones in 1979 in Tucson AZ. Together they had three children. Daryl worked for many years as a car salesman in Rome.

Daryl had a very outgoing personality and enjoyed life doing what he loved most, being outdoors — hunting, fishing and camping.

Daryl is survived by his mother, Orvis Beckwith of Floyd; brother, Rick Hoke of Rome; sister and brother-in-law, Dalorah and Bernard Lenaghen of Westernville; his children, Jeremy and Holly Beckwith of Vancouver, WA, Jason and Rebecca Beckwith of Austin, TX, and daughter Amy Beckwith of Austin, TX. He also leaves behind seven grandchildren, Lillie, Nathan, Gracie, Caden, Sarah, Kara, Jason Jr.; and many nieces and nephews. Daryl was predeceased by his father, Earl Beckwith and a sister, Deborah Beckwith.

In keeping with Daryl’s wishes funeral services will be private. Daryl will be laid to rest in Lee Valley Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the wonderful and compassionate staff of Hospice and Palliative Care, as well as the wonderful staff of the Abraham House.
