Daisy Ruth Burleigh

ANNISTON, ALA — Funeral services for Mrs. Daisy Ruth Burleigh, 93, will be Sunday, April 8, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Hillcrest Baptist Church with Rev. Todd Borders, and Rev. Milton Harris officiating with burial to follow at Forestlawn Gardens. Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home. 

Mrs. Burleigh passed on Wednesday, April 4 2018 at her home. 

Mrs. Burleigh is survived by her daughter, Anita Burleigh Smith; sons, Gerald Lee Burleigh, and Garry Lynn (Dorothy) Burleigh; brother, Donald E. (Betty) Herring; grandchildren, Peter Lee Burleigh, Matthew Stephen Burleigh, Sarah Michelle Burleigh; and great-grandchild, Pierson Lee Burleigh. 

Mrs. Burleigh was proceeded in death by her husband, Walter Burleigh; parents, Lovic and Dovie Herring; sisters, Lon Emma Black, Beatrice Sikorski O’Brien, Sarah Phillips Wingard, Frances Marie Boyd, and Betty Jean Smith; brothers, Walter Lee Herring, and John L. Herring. 

Casket bearers will be Steve Hale, Rev. Milton Harris, Charlie Goode, Phillip Haynes, Wayne McGinnis, and Billy Haynes. Honorary bearers will be Fidelis Sunday School class at Hillcrest Baptist Church. 

Mrs. Burleigh was a native and lifelong resident of Calhoun County. She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church, a member Fidelis Sunday School Class and the Goodtimers. She retired from Tape Craft after more than 25 years. She was a loving Mother, and doting grandmother and great-grandmother.
