Charles M. Gerber, Jr.

Charles M. Gerber, Jr., 61, of Camden, NY passed away peacefully at his home on September 24, 2017. He was born on January 13, 1956 a son of Charles and Betty Lou Riley Gerber and was a 1974 graduate of Camden High School. Following graduation from SUNY Oswego with a degree in accounting, he worked at Camden Wire Co. as a supervisor of accounting before he returned to the family business in 1990. He remained with Camden Collision for the rest of his years, until retiring in January due to ill health. Chuckie was a great football and baseball player in school. He loved his sports and participated on many area softball leagues and was a member of The Bombers and The Comet Bats among others. 

Chuck is survived by two brothers, John and Nicole Gerber and Steve and Debbie Christmas all of Camden; two sisters, Dawn Gerber, Camden and Cindy and Gary Isensee, Saratoga, NY; along with nieces and nephews, Carrie, Jesse, Morgan, Riley, Mason, Brian, Kyle, John, Mike and Patrick; as well as 3 great-nieces and 3 great-nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and a sister, Dorothy Christmas. Chuck loved his family and friends and loved to live life to the fullest. He will be truly missed.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. McKay and the 4th Floor and ICU staff at Oneida HealthCare Center, the Camden Ambulance and Camden Fire Dept., for their care and compassion.

Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment Forest Lawn Cemetery. There will be no calling hours, however a Gathering of Family and Friends will take place at Nicole’s of Camden, 9501 Harden Blvd., Saturday, October 14, 2017, from 2-6 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Camden Ambulance in lieu of flowers.
