Caroline Helen Stelicha

Caroline H. Stelicha, 82, of Rome passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at her home. She was born June 23, 1936 the daughter of John and Eva Stelicha in Yonkers, New York. Caroline graduated from Commerce High School. She also attended Russian Orthodox Church in Yonkers. She sang in a school choir and played the violin. At age 15 she joined a dance troupe at Lemko Hall. She also went to school at Lemko’s to learn to read and write Russian. Caroline worked as a secretary after graduating from school and in her mid 20’s went to Ford modeling school in New York and modeled for several years. She later worked as a telephone operator at AT&T and after several years she graduated to supervisor. After leaving AT&T she went to work for Wall Street Journal. After retiring she moved to Rome, NY in 2005.She was a member of South Rome Senior Center. 

Caroline is survived by her sister, Arlene Simpson of Rome; three nephews, Richard A. Bohning Jr., Rome, Edward Quinlan, Rome, and Derrick Quinlan, Ridgecrest, CA; a niece, Karol Rodgers of Lititz, PA; many grand nieces and nephews, Richard A. Bohning III and his wife, Liz, Rome, Felicia Bohning, Rome, Nora Bohning, Rome, Laura Rodgers, Lititz, PA, Matthew Rodgers, Broomall, PA.

Memorial Mass will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Transfiguration Church. Arrangements by Prince-Boyd & Hyatt Home for Funerals, Inc. 210 W. Court St. Rome.
