Beatrice I. (Crippen) House

Beatrice I. House, 83, of Blossvale, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 with her loving family by her side. She was born in Galeton, PA, on September 30, 1934, the daughter of the late Ray and Lena McLoughlin Crippen. On April 5, 1952, she married Clarence House. He passed away February 2, 2010.

Bea worked a variety of places including General Electric, Sisto’s and the Greenbrier Restaurants, and Great American. 

She was devoted member of the Resurrection Life Church of Rome, enjoyed reading her bible and attending bible studies with her daughter Sheri. She was a longtime adimirer of the Rev. Billy Graham. 

Bea loved making Christmas cookies for family and friends and watching her humming birds feed. 

She was a great listener and always gave sound advice. 

Bea is survived by a daughter, Sheri (Daniel) Holt of Clinton, Iowa; four sons, Ray House of Blossvale, Barry House of Frankfort, Colin (Felicia) House of Rome and Bruce (Catherine) House of Wellsboro, PA; eighteen grandchildren and twenty-eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sons, Keith and Brian House; three sisters, Alice D’Onifrio, Jean Smothers-Westcott and Agnes Conover; and four brothers, Robert, Benjamin, Merle and Royce Crippen.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 6 p.m. at Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome. Interment will take place in the spring in Rathbunnville Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday prior to the service from 4-6 p.m.
