Audrey E. Petrie

PLATTSBURGH — Audrey E. Petrie, 78, of Tom Miller Road, passed away, Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at the CVPH Medical Center.

She was born in Neptune, NJ on November 23, 1939 the daughter of the late Everett and Sarah (McQueen) Anderson.

Audrey attended Rome Free Academy. She married Glen Petrie on July 25, 1958 in Rome, NY. She worked in jewelry sales for a number of years at Englebert’s Jewelers in Rome, NY and then at Payson & Stoughton in Plattsburgh.

Audrey was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and the Champlain Voices.

She loved spending time with all of her grandchildren, sewing, knitting, quilting, singing in the choir, going antiquing, and reading books. Audrey also enjoyed going golfing, bowling, doing crossword puzzles and above all else, she especially enjoyed her cats.

Survivors include four daughters, Kathleen and Tim Shackelton of Sidney, NY, Pamela Boyson of Phoenix, AZ, Jennifer and Thomas Ford of Scottsdale, AZ and Jacquelyn and Joseph Bentley of Wilmington, NY; special niece, Tracey and Craig Perkins of Livonia, NY; brother, Robert Anderson of Rockville, MD; two sisters, Sonja Hluska and her companion, Jerry DeBalso of Naples, FL and Sally Prosser and her companion, Frank Linzy of Rome, NY; grandchildren, Amanda Randis, Joe Oppito, Melyssa Hyer, Christopher Boyson, Kerrie Boyson, Cadie Boyson, Jerome Blackwell, Travis Matt, Sarah Matt, Colin Bentley and Shannon Bentley; four great-grandchildren; five nephews and six nieces.

She was predeceased by her grandson, Ryan Matt and sister, Beverly Anderson.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2018 3 to 6 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 2 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Plattsburgh.

Entombment will take place at a later date in Whispering Maples Memorial Gardens, Plattsburgh.

Memorial donations may be made to the Fitzpatrick Cancer Center.
