Audrey C. Bonner

Audrey C. Bonner, 74, of Rome, died Sunday evening July 30, 2017 in Rome Hospital following a ten month battle with cancer.

Audrey was born on April 28, 1943, in Plattsburgh, the daughter of Wallace and Doris Rock. She was a graduate of Cadyville High School.

She had been a resident of the Utica and Marcy area for many years and moved to Rome in 1993.

For over 20 years, she was employed at TECT Power on Halsey Road in Whitesboro. Injured on the job, she retired in 2012.

Audrey enjoyed going to BINGO, shopping at garage sales and fishing.

Surviving is one son, Allen Barbato of Rome; one sister Deborah Rock of Rome; one brother Ronald Rock of Saranac, NY; one granddaughter, Ashley Barbato; one grandson, Joshua Smith; and great-granddaughter, Maddy Barbato; and her loving canine companion, Bones. She also leaves her special friend, Carmen Diroberto. She was predeceased by one brother, Carlton Rock; and a longtime partner and friend, the late Alfred Barbato.

The family wishes to thank all of the staff in the Emergency Department and ICU at Rome Hospital for the kindness and compassion shown to them during Audrey’s illness.

Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday August 4, 2016 in the Carr Cemetery, Route 291 Marcy, NY, where relatives and friends are invited. There will be no calling hours.
