Habitat seeks ReStore help
UTICA -- The Habitat ReStore is looking for volunteers. Those interested can call the the ReStore at 624-9010 and talk to Manager Rob Wilson.
People are needed to:
pick up donations on Wednesday and Saturday, and
help cleaning and setting up the store any day Tuesday through Saturday.
The ReStore will help support the services provide by the organization. The income generated from the ReStore goes toward expanding the building and repair programs of Oneida County Habitat for Humanities.
Also sought are donations of home furnishings.
www.habitat.org/env/restores.aspx says, "Habitat for Humanity ReStores are nonprofit home improvement stores and donation centers that sell new and gently used furniture, home accessories, building materials, and appliances to the public at a fraction of the retail price."
The Restore hours for volunteer work are Tuesday through Saturday 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Volunteers are asked to call the new store number, 624-9010, so materials/equipment/supplies are ready. Lots of help is needed now preparing the facility of about 11,000 square feet, then at least four volunteers each hour will be needed when the store opens for sales.
A volunteer base of 30 to 40 people is sought.

Donations can be dropped off at the ReStore, just off the arterial in the former McHarris Gifts store/warehouse, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays. No appointment is needed.
