Jennie Pettinelli

Jennie Pettinelli, age 89, of Rome, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2014 at Rome Memorial Hospital.

Jennie was born in Conway, PA on November 24, 1924 to the late Giachino and Maria Scullino Aiello. She attended Rome Schools. On August 25, 1951, she married Antonio Pettinelli at St. Mary’s of the Angels in Toronto, Canada. With her husband, she ran the family business, Tony’s Ornamental Iron Works, for over 40 years.

Jennie enjoyed golfing, sewing, cooking, and spending time with her family and friends. She was a devoted member of St. John the Baptist Church and the Rome Teresians.

Jennie is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Antonio; her children, Toni Ann (James) Olejarczyk, Donald (Barbara) Pettinelli, Anthony John (Cynthia) Pettinelli, Rene (David) Cutler and Robert (Candace) Pettinelli; grandchildren, Johnna (Craig Strong) Rockenstyre, Anthony (Chelsea Katz) Pettinelli, Rian (Peter Trela II) Pettinelli, Timmy Pettinelli, Michael Pettinelli, Mary Frances Pettinelli, Rob Pettinelli, Toby Pettinelli, Jennifer Pettinelli, Julia Pettinelli, Lauren Pettinelli, John Pettinelli, Taylor Pettinelli, and Amanda Cutler; great-grandchildren, Collin Rockenstyre, Annabelle Trela and Lucas Vincenzo Pettinelli; two sisters, Marie Haines Favata and Sara Lanzafame; sister-in-law, Frances Aiello, and a brother-in-law, Jack J. Rotolo, Sr. She was predeceased by two sisters, Antionette Muttillo and Frances Rotolo; and two brothers, Dominic "Pep" and John Aiello.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 10 at 11 a.m. at the Church of St. John the Baptist, with the Rev. Paul F. Angelicchio officiating. Burial will be private.

There are no calling hours.

The family wishes to acknowledge and express their appreciation to the staff at the Colonial Park Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, the staff in 2 North at Rome Hospital and Dr. Nicoletta Talladini, her caregiver for many years.
