Comedy club ready to open

NEW HARTFORD — The Benny HaHa’s comedy club is slated to open Sept. 6.

"There is incredible opportunity in the Greater Utica area, which had been a dead spot for comedy. People are hungry for it. Now folks can have an affordable night out while sharing a ton of laughs," said Mike Bova, who co-owns the club with Todd Manolescu.

The club is located at the Holiday Inn on 1777 Burrstone Road

Opening weekend, sponsored by Utica School of Commerce and NYE Auto Group in Oneida, will feature comedian Gary Keshner of Brooklyn, who has appeared on FX and NBC, and headliner Dennis Ross of Barnegat, N.J., who has been on NBC and Comedy Central, and has entertained troops overseas. Bova will host the shows that feature guest appearances from Syracuse natives, Steven Rogers (Friday’s show) and Grant Fletcher (Saturday’s show).

Admission is $15, which includes a free beer, wine or soda. Friday and Saturday shows are at 9 p.m.; doors open at 8. To purchase advance tickets, visit
