Railroads of Rome topic Friday
The Utica and Mohawk Valley Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Friday in the Rome Historical Society on Church Street.
There will be a business portion conducted by President Doug Preston with reports on the Adirondack Scenic Railroad, the picnic at Utica Union Station in August, the bus trip to the Saratoga and North Creek Railroad and the Trains on Parade exhibit, the restoration of New York Central 6721, plus several more activities and projects ahead for the coming months and weeks.
After a break, Rome Historical Society Museum Currator and Utica and Mohawk Valley Chapter member Mike Hutchco will have a program on the railroads of Rome. The program will feature railroads like the New York Central, Penn Central, Conrail, CSX, Amtrak, the New York, Ontario and Western, the Rome, Watertown and Ogdensburg and the Mohawk Adirondack and Northern.
The meeting is open to anyone who is interested.
