Helen Ann Brown

Helen Ann Brown, 76, of Park Drive Manor passed away on April 20, 2013 at Rome Memorial Hospital Extended Care Unit. She was born February 13, 1937 in Westmoreland, NY the daughter of Stephen and Adliza Flanagan Melioris. Helen attended Rome Schools. She worked as a cook at the Oneida County Home and also worked as a daycare provider. Mary was a member of St. Mary’s Church.

Helen is survived by a daughter, Julie Ann Brown, Rome; a son, Melvin Charles Brown, Jr., Utica; one sister, Elizabeth Pryor, Clinton; two brothers and three sisters-in-law, Stephen and Betty Melioris, Rome, Lincoln Robert and Barbara Ann Melioris, Mesa, AR, and Patricia Melioris, Rome; four grandchildren, Matthew, William, Faith and Shyanne and a special friend Holly. She was predeceased by a sister Elsie Smales, and two brothers, Paul and Joseph Melioris; and a brother-in-law Daniel Pryor.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at Rome Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Prince-Boyd & Hyatt Home for Funerals, Inc., 210 W. Court St., Rome. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the Home for Funerals Wednesday from 12 to 2 p.m.
