Local recycling rates

When it comes to recycling, Rome is trailing several local communities.

Here are the 2012 recycling rates:

¿ Village of New York Mills — 26.36 percent using a pay-as-you-throw bag system.

¿ Village of Yorkville — 25.46 percent using a pay-as-you-throw bag system.

¿ Town of Floyd — 21.51 percent.

¿ Village of New Hartford — 19.66 percent.

¿ City of Rome — 17.74 percent.
