$300 fine in attempt to hit woman with car
A 26-year-old woman was ordered to pay more than $300 in City Court for trying to run down another woman with her car.
Brandy L. Ambrose, 26, of 425 N. Levitt St., was ordered by Judge Daniel C. Wilson Friday to pay $200 in fines and a $120 surcharge on two counts of disorderly conduct, reduced from charges of second-degree reckless endangerment and endangering the welfare of a child.
State police said at 6:30 a.m. Jan. 7, Ambrose drove to KDK Sports on Rome-Taberg Road and tried to hit a 22-year-old woman with her car. The woman had to jump out of the way to avoid being run over, authorities said.
In a statement to investigators, the victim said she worked at the store, and that Ambrose had been in a relationship with one of her co-workers.
The victim said Ambrose arrived and started arguing with the man, but he left, and then Ambrose turned her anger on the victim.
When Ambrose left the scene, troopers said she drove away so fast that her 5-year-old son fell backwards into the backseat of her car.
