Free Irish Session Tuesday in Stockdale’s

ORISKANY — Craobh Dugan, the local branch of Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann, will be holding a traditional Irish music session Tuesday with learning at 7:30 p.m. and full-speed session at 8:30 p.m.

The Session will be held at the Stockdale’s, 103 River St., on the usual third Tuesday of every month.

The free Session is open to all musicians who play acoustic traditional instrument such as fiddle, guitar, pennywhistle, accordion, mandolin, and banjo.

Spectators are encouraged to come to listen and enjoy an evening of traditional music.

Irish Sessions have a long tradition in the history of Irish Music. They are usually held in public houses (pubs) and have a format that encourages both listening and playing. The musicians will play many standard Irish tunes in the traditional manner.

Musicians who are new to Irish Traditional Music are encouraged to arrive at 7:30 to play tunes at learning speed.

Craobh Dugan was established in locally 1978 for the purpose of furthering the understading of and promotion of Irish Culture in the Mohawk Valley.
