BALDWINSVILLE — January JAZZfest 2013 — a celebration of first-class food; drink; and first-class Jazz, Blues, Latin, and Cabaret — returns to the historic Mohegan Manor Sunday from 1 to 9 p.m.
Advance tickets cost $25 online at cnyjazz.org. At the door, tickets will cost $30 or $15 for students with a valid ID.
January JAZZfest is a benefit for CNY Jazz Central, which presents more than 100 concerts and other events to a total audience of 70,000 annually; trains more than 400 music students at year-round clinics; and runs Jazz Central, the "busiest little theater in Syracuse!"
This year’s headlining act is The Tony Monaco Quintet (www.b3monaco.com).
Monaco will be joined by accomplished CNY jazz singer and keyboardist Cookie Coogan.
Other acts appearing throughout the four-story Mohegan Manor are the Jim O’Mahoney Trio, LuBossa, Grupo Son Boricua, the Syracuse Blues Fest "SOS" Blues Band, E.S.P. & Friends, and Jeff Stockham’s Jazz Police, which will host an all-star jazz jam beginning at 6 p.m. During the day a silent auction and raffle will be held, also for the benefit of CNY Jazz.
