Westmo doubles Morrisville

The Westmoreland junior varsity boys basketball squad pulled out a 60-29 triumph over Morrisville-Eaton at home on Thursday night.

Freshman Joey Becker led the way for the Bulldogs with 18 points and five rebounds. Jack Acquavia also added 12 points and three steals.

RFA drops to West Genesee

In more boys junior varsity basketball action, Rome Free Academy fell victim to its first loss of the season by dropping to host West Genesee, 59-51.

Tyrone Cowell put in 15 points and made six steals for the Black Knights, and Zack Rotundo chipped in 10 points.

RFA’s record moves to 4-1 on the season.

Redwings lose third straight

The Rome Catholic junior varsity boys basketball team’s record remained winless at 0-3 following a 38-33 setback to visiting Owen D. Young.

The Redwings were paced by Tom Tardugno with 17 points and three rebounds. Logan Reynolds, Joe Cesena, Chris Finster and Tom Ariglio each pulled six rebounds apiece, as well.

Oneida tops Rome

In girls junior varsity volleyball play, RFA dropped to a 2-1 defeat from host Oneida. Set scores were 25-21, 19-25 and 19-25.

Kaylee Pawlikowski recorded five aces, three digs and an assist, and Kelsie Nash hit three aces, a kill and made two assists as Rome’s top scorers.
