New York State School for the Deaf will be hosting its 22nd annual Friendship Soccer Games on Friday and Saturday.
The Games will be a six-team, two-day coed event involving teams from Philadelphia, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Canada and Castorland competing along with NYSSD.
All teams will play two games each, with one on Friday and the other on Saturday morning. NYSSD and Franklyn’s Field will be the sites for the matchups.
NYSSD will host its Friday game against Sir James Whitney of Canada on the school’s soccer field at 2 p.m. and on Saturday will take on Rhode Island back at the school at 9 a.m.
The NYSSD field will also hold two other games, with Pennsylvania battling Learning Center of Massachusetts at 4 p.m. on Friday and on Saturday Sir James Whitney playing Pennsylvania at 11 a.m.
Franklyn’s Field has Rhode Island going up against River Valley on Friday at 4 p.m., and Learning Center facing River Valley on Saturday at 9 a.m.
The event will also feature a free admission showing of a captioned film, "The Hammer," to be held at Capitol Theater at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
