Ticket donation will send soldiers to see Springsteen
VERNON — Jeff Gural, chief executive officer of Vernon Downs Casino owner American Racing and Entertainment, has donated 2,000 tickets for tonight’s Bruce Springsteen concert. The $150,000 in tickets represents the largest, personal, one-time donation to the United Service Organization in the last 15 years.
The tickets will be distributed through the USO to active military service members and their families stationed at Fort Drum, as well as those serving in the New York National Guard and United States Coast Guard.
Gural stated; "I believe that the members of the armed forces have done a spectacular job of keeping our country safe and as a resident of New York, I am extremely grateful for their dedication. This is simply my way of thanking members of the armed forces located here in New York State for their sacrifice. Bruce Springsteen and the E-Street Band are appearing tonight as part of the Wrecking Ball Tour, and will take the stage at 7:30 p.m.
