Burley gets back into victory lane at Utica-Rome Speedway
VERNON — Todd Burley shook off some midseason bad luck and came away with a win in the modified feature during Utica-Rome Speedway’s final four-division Sunday evening racing show of the year.
Burley recorded his second victory of the season as he pulled away from points leader Stewart Friesen and Pat Ward late in the race. Ward wound up in second place and Friesen was third.
Ronnie Johnson raced to fourth and Mike Mahaney came home in fifth.
Matt Janczuk got by leader Jeremy Vunk with eight laps to go in the 20-lap sportsman feature for his sixth triumph of the year. Vunk was second, while Steve Way captured third and Rome native Chris Mackey was fifth.
Pete Stefanski made a last lap pass on Shawn Frost to win the 20-lap pro stock feature with Tom Denton coming in third.
