Firm gets $27M deal from feds

Quanterion Solutions Inc., with offices in Rome and Utica, has been awarded a federal $27 million contract to operate the Cyber Security and Information Systems Information Analysis Center.

Under the five-year agreement, Quanterion will serve as a center of excellence for the Department of Defense in cyber security, modeling and simulation, knowledge management, and software engineering. The contract is technically overseen by the Air Force Research Laboratory Information Directorate at Griffiss.

The center will be at SUNY Institute of Technology and at the Griffiss Institute. Members of the Quanterion team include Assured Information Security in Griffiss, SRC, AEgis Technologies, Syracuse University, University of Southern California and George Mason University.

Quanterion President Preston MacDiarmid said staff additions have already been made and more technical professionals are being sought by the 12-year-old company. The center is one of eight such facilities, each addressing a different set of technologies, in the Defense Department’s information analysis center program. Quanterion also operates similar operations at the Reliability Information Analysis Center locally.
