A 36-year-old man is accused of smashing his half-brother in the head with a baseball bat during a dispute on East Dominick Street.
Police said Damon M. Parmeter, of 101 Douglas Ave., Canastota, struck his half-brother in the head with a baseball bat during an argument at his brother’s residence at 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Police said the man suffered multiple injuries.
Authorities said Parmeter was also violating an order of protection by just being at the residence, which is owned by a different brother.
In a statement to police, the victim said Parmeter attacked him while he was trying to get Parmeter to leave the residence.
Parmeter is charged with second-degree assault and second-degree contempt, police said. He was arraigned before City Court Judge Daniel C. Wilson on Monday, and he was sent to county jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or bond. Parmeter is scheduled to reappear in court.
