Crow Management seminar Thursday

An Urban Crow Management Seminar will be held Thursday from 9 a.m.- 1 p.m. in the Baldwinsville Lions Clubhouse, 1 Lions Parkway, in the Village Community Park near the River in Baldwinsville.

The free event is sponsored by the New York State Wildlife Management Association (NYSWMA). The seminar is primarily directed toward municipal officials in areas that have an existing or developing Crow nuisance problem but anyone interested in learning about Crows, the problems they may cause and potential solutions is welcome.

The seminar will be lead by Cody Baciuska, President of the NYSWMA and a bird control professional who explained "Urban crows are an increasing issue across New York and the Northeast. It is vital that we come together and learn as much as possible about the most intelligent bird in North America."

Presenters include Kevin J. McGowan, PhD, from the Cornell Lab of Ornithology who will speak on American Crow Intelligence and Natural History, and Laurie Ulrich Fuller of the Lancaster Crow Coalition who will speak on Innovative Techniques for Urban Crow Roost Dispersal. Baciuska will describe and demonstrate Safe Use of Pyrotechnics for Harassing Birds.
