HAMILTON — Cellist Florent Renard-Payen performs a solo cello concert on Sunday at 7 p.m. in the Broad Street Gallery, 20 Broad St. This concert, titled "Bach and Beyond," is a benefit for the Hamilton Center for the Arts Multi-Arts Camp scholarships.
Tickets are $20 at the gallery or by contacting Kathy Herold at 368-4453, 825-5235, or hamiltoncenterforthearts@gmail.com. All proceeds will go to the scholarships. Children under 12 are admitted free.
There will be a reception following the performance.
French born American cellist Florent Renard-Payen is a performer of music of the 20th and 21st centuries. He has performed as a soloist and chamber musician in festivals in Italy, Mexico, and France as well as at such American venues as Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall and the Gardner Museum in Boston. Florent is professor of violoncello at the conservatory Hector Berlioz in Paris. Prior to this appointment, he taught cello at Colgate University and chamber music at Hamilton College in Clinton.
The Broad Street Gallery is a cooperative venture for education, promotion, and sales of fine art comprising 15 professional artists working in a variety of media and/or teaching in Central New York State.
