One person was hospitalized and Utica law enforcers are investigating after two separate shootings in the Cornhill district Monday night.
Shortly before 11 p.m., police said a person was shot in the 1400 block of Kemble St., near Genesee Street. The person’s condition was not released. Then at 11:02 p.m., there was another report of shots fired at 168 Elmwood Place, about three to four blocks south.
Police said shots were fired into the first-floor apartment, where a baby and several small children were sleeping. No one was injured in the second shooting.
Authorities are investigating both shootings. No arrests have been made so far. Anyone with information is asked to call investigators at 223-3510 or 534-1229. All calls will be kept confidential.
