Threatening with shotgun accused

A 47-year-old man is accused of threatening his girlfriend with a shotgun on Elmer Hill Road Wednesday night.

Sheriff’s deputies said Richard Chamberlin, of 8581 Elmer Hill Road, threatened the woman with a shotgun at about 10 p.m. Law enforcers responded and were told that Chamberlin had barricaded himself in the home — but Undersheriff Robert S. Swenszkowski said that was not the case.

"They established contact with him, and he came out," Swenszkowski stated.

Chamberlin was taken into custody and the shotgun was recovered. Authorities said he is charged with one count of second-degree menacing. Chamberlin was held in lockup overnight to await arraignment this morning in City Court.
