Sylvan Beach law appreciation day

SYLVAN BEACH — A Law Enforcement Appreciation Day will be held at the Sylvan Beach Village Park this Saturday, with demonstrations from the state police, the Sheriff’s Office and more.

The event is free to the public, and will run from noon to 5 p.m. on July 14, according to the Sylvan Beach/Verona Beach Resort Association.

The event is dedicated to learning more about and fostering an appreciation for the skills and knowledge of local law enforcement.

There will be displays, exhibits and demonstrations from the state police, the Sheriff’s Marine Patrol, the Sylvan Beach Fire Department and the state Park Police.

The state police’s Special Response Team’s Bearcat armored vehicle will also be on display, along with motorcycles and a patrol car.

Recruiters from Mohawk Valley Community College will also be there with information about their criminal justice program.
