Book sale was a success

Recently, Dollars for Scholars held a book sale to raise funds to continue awarding scholarships to local graduating seniors. I would like to take this opportunity to thank several individuals who helped make this fund-raising event so successful.

Jeff Simons and Diane Baker were instrumental in public relations by allowing us to get the word out to school district employees and retirees. The advertising assistance provided by the Daily Sentinel helped us to attract the community at large. Gansevoort Principal Kathy Bragan was so welcoming in allowing us to host our book sale at the former Fort Stanwix School. The buildings and grounds department, especially Jeff Sutter, came to our rescue on a minute’s notice with more display tables.

Gansevoort custodians Bob Pexton, Bob Smith and Sandy Szyper are thanked for all their efforts and hard work. Phil Felice was more than generous with his time and supplying us with boxes to display our vast numbers of books. Lastly, I want to thank everyone who donated books and came to support Dollars for Scholars. Because of all these individuals, the first book sale for Dollars for Scholars was a tremendous success. Thank you all.
