Fan appreciation night Thursday at the Utica-Rome Speedway
VERNON — Utica-Rome Speedway will not only be giving back to its fans, but also to the local food pantries with Fan Appreciation Night on Thursday.
Any fan that shows up with a canned good will receive a $5 general admission ticket, which is a $2 discount of the regular admission price, when the Speedway hosts a regular show of modifieds, sportsman, pro stocks and pure stocks.
The modifieds will compete for a $2,000 top prize in a 30-lap feature with defending track champion Stewart Friesen aiming to grab his third consecutive win. The sportsman, pro stocks and pure stocks will also see action in regular distance events. Gates open at 4:30 p.m. with racing set to begin at 7 p.m.
