ATV National event set for weekend

NEW BERLIN — Some of the top ATV riders in the world will gather for the Can-Am Northeastern ATV National this weekend at Unadilla Motocross.

ATV National Series leader Chad Wienen will be at the competition along with current ATV National champion John Natalie, Josh Upperman and Tom Brown.

All pro qualifying and racing will start at 8 a.m. on Saturday with the first pro moto race scheduled for 1 p.m.

All pro racers will also be holding an autograph session in their pit area. The pit area is free of charge and open to the public all weekend.

In addition to pro racing, there will be amateur racing for over 38 classes beginning on Saturday morning while continuing throughout the day and concluding on Sunday.

Roller Derby in New Hartford on Saturday

NEW HARTFORD — The Central New York Roller Derby will be hosting a doubleheader on Saturday at the New Hartford Recreation Center.

The event’s card includes the Rome Wreckers battling the Utica Clubbers, and the Quadfathers kicking off the action when they face New York Shock Exchange Dow Jones Average. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. with the first whistle blowing at 5:30.

The Wreckers’ intraleague bout with Utica will decide which team advances to take on the Blue Collar Betties in the final Championship bout. Both teams have already fallen to the Betties this season. Tickets are available at the door for $10. Seniors are $50 and youngsters 12-and-under are free of charge.
