Parkhurst gets back on track with road victory over Love

Oriskany’s Parkhurst Post rebounded from a lopsided defeat against Smith Post last Wednesday by coming up with a 12-3 triumph on the road over Love Post in Boonville on Saturday in District V American Legion baseball action.

Parkhurst tallied 12 hits in the contest and took advantage of five errors by the hosts with four batters receiving multi-hit games. Pat McGrath and Patrick Manna collected two hits and two RBIs apiece, as Anthony Pickard and Cody Murphy each added two hits while Murphy doubled.

Manna was also the winning pitcher while striking out five through 4 1-3 innings, and McGrath picked up the save while getting out of a bases loaded jam with the tying run at the plate in the fifth.

Justin Kranbuhl took the loss on the mound and led the 3-8 overall and 2-6 in the district Love Post offense with two hits.

Parkhurst moved to 3-3 in district play and will visit Clonan Wicks-Staley Post on Tuesday at Sauquoit Valley High School at 6 p.m.

Love returns to action against visiting Moran Sylvan Beach tonight at 7.

Moran blanks Little Falls

Moran Sylvan Beach Post came out ahead of host Little Falls, 11-0, in mercy-rule shortened five inning contest.

Joe Foll had two hits and three RBIs for MSB, while Joe Foll added two hits of his own. Parker Smith, Jake Clark and Marcus Chestnut each recorded two RBIs, as well.

Cody Sullivan doubled at the plate and picked up the winning decision on the hill in a two-hit, complete game performance while striking out seven and walking seven.

MSB moves to 2-3 overall on the season.
