Sherrill claims 5-3 triumph over visiting Little Falls Post

SHERRILL — Sherrill Post fell behind by three runs in the first three innings but fired back with four runs in the fifth to go on to capture a 5-3 triumph over visiting Little Falls during a District V American Legion game at Noyes Park on Friday.

Andrew Mallinder paced the Sherrill offense with three hits, two RBIs, a stolen base and scored a run, while Dan Carlson, Kyle George and John Bowers each added two hits apiece. James Flagler, Adam Ross and Josh Webb each drove in a run, and Flagler doubled, as well.

Webb was also the winner on the mound after allowing just one hit, two walks and striking out six through four innings in relief of the starter Flagler, who gave up three runs off three hits and five walks.

Sherrill’s record moved to 7-1 overall and they will look to keep their momentum going as they face Fort Schuyler Post on Monday at DeLutis Field starting at 7 p.m.
